| Rao shocked over Doda mishap | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Nov 13: The occurrence of off and on road accident on Batote-Kishtwar road has become a regular phenomenon due to the carelessness on part of state government, which has failed to take action against the traffic department responsible for this, said, Kuldeep Kumar Rao of Lok Jan Shakti Party (LJSP) contesting from Inderwal constituency in the coming elections.
While, expressing shock over the tragedy which happened yesterday at Karara in district Doda, yesterday killing 10 passengers and injuring 14 passengers, Rao said that accident reflect the carelessness on part of Government in General and concerned department in particular.
He said the main cause of accident is plying of old vehicles and no check on overloading which is regular feature due to rampant corruption in the traffic department. He urged upon the Government to take immediate steps to minimize such tragedies in near feature. He also appealed the concerned authorities to take stern action the vehicle owners who violate the law and ply with human lives. Beside this condition of road is gone from bad to worst, he said and added that Rs. Three lakh, he paid to the family of deceased and Rs 50, 000 to injured persons. |
