JAMMU, Nov 14: Launching his election campaign at Dansal Block, Balbir SIngh Manhas Independent candidate from Nagrota Constituency today opened its election office at Manwal and Jandrah and addressed public meetings at Surisar, Kothar and Jandrah.
As per a release, the people of village Kothar especially Mahasha community while interacting with Manhas highlighted the problems being faced by them which include the non availability of potable drinking water, road connectivity, construction of bridge over Railway crossing at Manbal Rly. Station, benefits under BPL scheme and even non availability of fertilizer to them.
Speaking on the occasion, Manhas blamed the political parties for the plight of their community as the people remained in power deliberately ignored and discriminated against Mahasha community. He said that it is unfortunate that people of community who are living under BPL category are not getting benefits and other people are utilizing their benefits.
He said that said community deserves the upliftment so that it can enjoy all the benefits as enjoyed by others and therefore cautioned them against the political parties which directly responsible for their backwardness.
Later addressing a election meeting at Jandrah, Manhas appealed to electoral to vote for him as he is capable of understanding the needs of the people of the constituency since his association with the area is so long, the release added.
He said that time has come when people of the constituency should reject opportunist and divisive political parties and give chance to independent candidature of him who have pro people policies and can bring this constituency out of present quagmire.
