JAMMU, Nov 14: The election for the positions of One Secretary and Three Joint Secretaries of the Students Cultural Council 2008-09 was conducted by the Department of Students Welfare, Jammu University. As per a release Sachin Bhagat was declared elected as Secretary. He defeated his nearest rival Deepika Hans, Department of Psychology by a margin of one vote. Sachin secured 17 votes while 16 votes were polled in favour of Deepika Hans. Tabish Tanveer from the CHTM, Hemant Kumar from Dept of Environmental Sciences, and Poonam Handa from Education Department were elected as Joint Secretaries.
Prof. S.K Sharma, Prof. J.S Tara, Dr. Shailendra Singh acted as Election Commissioner, Presiding Officer and Returning Officer respectively. The election was conducted under the supervision of Prof. Dhian Singh Bhau, Dean Students Welfare, Dr. A.S Jasrotia, Vijay Atri, Asstt Dean (CA) and Vinay Thusoo, Public Relation officer, the release added. |
