Schools, Children enthusiastic on children’s day

JAMMU, Nov 14: Children Day was celebrated with much fanfare and zeal in all over the region. Various cultural functions were held to mark the occasion.
A function was held at Delhi Public School in which the students and teachers paid floral tributes to late Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru . Students and teachers on the occasion presented mesmerizing items and enthralled the audience.
Headmistress DPS Rohini Aima appreciated the efforts put in by the teachers and the students. She encouraged the students to become good citizens with great values.
S D Tara Puri Public High School celebrated Children Day with zeal and enthusiasm. The programme was chaired by Principal Neeru Puri. Who on the occasion inspired the students to work on the principles of Pt. Nehru.
Model Academy- The Prestigious School of MIER organized a number of colourful fun filled activities and cultural programmes on Children’s Day to mark the birth anniversary of Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru. An energetic and zestful participation of the students at both the branches lent a look of festivity to the event. The main attraction of the celebrations was the inter house sports competition, in which, students of different age groups enthusiastically participated in different sports events like Badminton, Volley Ball, Basket ball etc. An impressive and deft display by students in all events enthralled the audience.
Principal Model Academy Dr. Adit Gupta, in his speech, urged the students to set goals and vision for their lives and actively participate in the nation building process and fulfill the dreams of Chacha Nehru. Mrs. Rupa Gupta, Principal RR School exhorted the teachers to nurture the children with love and care as they are the future of the nation and the citizens of tomorrow. Earlier Mrs. Usha Gadoo, Vice Principal of the school welcomed the Chief Guest Dr. Adit Gupta and also presented a report about the various sports competitions organized during the week long celebration.
Children’s Day was celebrated with great zeal by the students of SOS Hermann Gmeiner School Gole Gujral in the school campus. On this Occasion rich floral tribute was paid to Pt. Jawahar Lal Nerhu by Principal and little buds of the school. The Programme started with the lighting of traditional lamp.
Different types of races like lemon and spoon race, Monkey race, Frog jump, three legged race, Thread and needle race, one leg race and Tug of war were also held in which students from class I to XII took part.
The other attractions of the programme were fancy dress competition of junior classes and cultural programmes like group songs, solo dances, group dances, skits by the students of different classes. Main attractions of the occasion were skits played by different groups on the theme child right awareness and social evils.
Clad in colourful and eye catching dresses depicting the personalities of first Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and other great leaders, who played a role in the freedom struggle of India, the students of Sprawling Buds School, Chinore in Bantalab celebrated Children’s Day with enthusiasm today.

While senior students paid tributes to Pt Nehru by recalling his services for the nation through the medium of debates, those juniors, from pre-primary classes, participated in fancy dress and poem recitation competitions.
Later, prizes were distributed among the position holders in different events by Principal, Pooja Sharma. Directors of the school, Rahul Sharma and Ramesh Khajuria distributed sweets among the students. Earlier, Arti Sharma, Director of the school presented a brief note on importance of the Children’s Day.
In debate competition, Pooja Pandita of class 8th bagged the first prize while Master Aakash Sawhney won prize for poem recitation. Pranab Mengi of pre-nursery, who was dressed in Tomato and Aadhya Sharma of nursery (Banana) bagged first positions in their respective groups.
JP World School also celebrated the occasion of Children’s Day with great pomp and show. Principal, SG Chatterji spoke on the occasion and threw light on the life of Nehruji. Students on the occasion presented various cultural items.
In Dogra Higher Secondary School, Shastri Nagar various colorful items were presented by the students in remembrance of the great leader. The function was presided over by Vice-Principal Mrs. Nirmal Kour. Later at the conclusion, a funfair was also organized by the teachers for the students in which different stalls of eatables and games were put up.
As part of Childrens day , a debate competition on the topic ‘Nehru’s Vision of India fulfilled or not’was organized in the premises of Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School Miran Sahib. Principal of the school, Sureshta Devi was the guest of honor on the occasion. Students on the occasion delivered their ideas on the above topic. Later the prizes were distributed among the winners.
Nehru Yuva Kendra Rajouri Ministry of Youth affairs and sports Govt. of India in collaboration with Jamola Nehru Youth Club organized a sympous on the eve of children day organized as foundation day of Nehru Yva Kendra. Pt. sadhu Ram Social worker was the chief guest on the occasion.
-To commemorate children day a function was held at Government Higher Secondary School Katra today.The students of Government HSS Katra, Trikuta Public School, Girls High School Katra, Government High School Kotli Bhaga, Shishu Vidya Mandir School, Government Middle School Kunderian, Government Middle School Hansali, Pine Land Public School and Government Middle School Boys Katra presented a debate competition and cultural programme.
Trikuta Public School adjudged first, Government HSS Katra second and Government Middle School Kundorian third respectively in the cultural programme while Akhilesh Sanmoks of Trikuta Public School declared first, Esha Gupta of GHSS Katra second and Pooja Dogra of the same school third respectively in debate.
Principal GHSS Katra Ashok Dogra distributed prizes among the winners.
In another function at Government Girls High School Katra students presented colorful cultural bonanza.
Students of Lord Shiv Academy too celebrated the day with enthusiasm and funfare. Tiny tots of the chool took part in various games organized by the school. School coordinator Bharti wished all the students on the occasion.
