Director AHD hands over poultry vehicles to IPDP beneficiaries

JAMMU, Dec 30: Director Animal Husbandry Jammu, Dr. Sagar D. Doifode today handed over the keys of Transport Vehicles(caged) to the poultry farmers who were given Rs 2 lakh subsidy by the department under Integrated Poultry Development Programme(IPDP) .
Speaking on the occasion, the Director said that the IPDP is one of the flagship self-employment generating initiatives of the Animal Husbandry Department aimed at making latest technological interventions accessible to the poultry farmers with an unprecedented 50 percent subsidy under each component.
"Any individual or group of individuals/SHGs/FPOs/Poultry retail unit/Cooperatives and New or existing poultry farmers can avail the scheme" he stated.
Giving details about the progress made by the department in terms of various components under the said welfare programme, the Director said that till date subsidy amount of over Rs 3 crore has been sanctioned for establishment of new commercial poultry farms, poultry Transport vehicles, Poultry equipments, Mini Hatchers/Incubators etc benefitting hundreds of poultry farmers across the Jammu division . He further said that more cases for sanction are also in the pipeline for the welfare of the poultry farmers.
He exhorted the farmers to take advantage of different schemes of the Animal Husbandry department Jammu for scientific and diversified farming to increase their income levels. He further assured the farmers that the procedures for availing the incentives under various schemes have been simplified and made time bound to reduce hardships being faced by the farmers
Earlier, the Director interacted with the beneficiary poultry farmers who express their gratitude towards the department for providing them with the necessary infrastructure for modern and mechanized poultry farming.
Deputy Director(AH), Dr.Javed Katoch; Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Jammu, Dr Syed Altaf; Deputy Director Poultry, Dr Sunil Bazaz; Extension Officer, Dr Vinay Gupta, Technical Officer(Gen.), Dr Rajeev Manhas, other officers and staff of the Animal Husbandry department Jammu besides a large number of farmers were also present on the occasion.
