SSP visits TRC Chatroo, inspects damages cause to building due to fire

KISHTWAR, Dec 30: Senior Superintendent of Police Kishtwar Shafqat Hussain Butt today visited Chatroo and inspected the Tourist Reception Center building that suffered massive damages due to fire incident late last night. As per the details available with Early Times, after registration of FIR under relevant sections of law, Chatroo police begins its investigation.
In order to expedite the probe, FSL team from Kishtwar also rush to the spot for on spot verification of the building to ascertain the cause of fire that has spread vide spread anger among the people who blames UP based NHIDCL contractor and its employees responsible alleging their negligence that lead to tragic incident.
Sources said that SSP Kishtwar issued strict instructions to investigating officer with regard to probe and assured strict action against the guilty whosoever will be found involved in leading to the tragic fire incident. Meanwhile, the locals today raised objection over the way the employees engaged by the NHIDCL contractor for construction of Kishtwar-Chatroo-Khanbal-Srinagar National occupied the 2nd TRC building.
Speaking to Early Times, local politician Altaf Malik said that the NHIDCL officials without taking anyone into confidence shifted in the adjoining TRC building which needs to be checked by the local administration and the police."They are cooking inside the hall with wooden paneling and openly on marble floor- several LPG cylinders could be seen scattered inside the building and no safety measures has been taken since same could be disaster for another incident- similar to perilous one" said Malik.
Another local resident Hafiz Ali Mohammad Naik said that the NHIDCL officials were seen clearly throwing the safety norms to whirlwind added that food is being cooked inside 2nd TRC building Chatroo without taking care of the public property. He said that the TRC is the pride of locals and administration should fix the responsibility on guilty persons.
Several locals also vent their anger over the tragic fire incident at TRC Chatroo and demanded immediate establishment of Fire Tender Service station at Chatroo and Mughalmaidan so that these types of incidents could be prevented in near future.
Later after public anger, employees of electricity department from Chatroo Sub Division rushed to the TRC Complex and seized illegally used boilers and other electric equipments from the position of NHIDCL contractor man. However no action has been taken against the guilty for huge power theft.
