Chairman MC Udhampur calls for spreading mass awareness on CAB

UDHAMPUR, Dec 30: The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit Government College for Women(GCW) Udhampur today organized a special lecture on the second day of the weeklong Annual Winter Special Camp on the theme COVID Appropriate Behaviour and Orientation about the OMICRON variant at College campus here today.
The Camp has been organized by the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of GCW Udhampur.
Chairman Municipal Council(MC) Udhampur, Dr. Yogeshwar Gupta was the chief guest, while Principal of the College Prof. Minu Mahajan was the guest of honor on the occasion. Councilor Ward No: 10 Anil Arora was also present on the occasion.
In his address, Dr. Yogeshwar Gupta stressed the volunteers to create awareness among the general public regarding COVID appropriate behaviour to break the transmission chain especially new variant OMICRON. He appreciating the efforts of the NSS Unit GCW Udhampur for creating awareness through weeklong camp, urged the college administration to hold more such events in the near future also.
Dr. Gupta further enlightened about reducing reuse and recycling waste. Dr. Gupta also mentioned about the responsibility of people to cooperate with the government as they are supposed to segregate the waste at source itself.
Principal Prof. Minu Mahajan urged volunteers and participants to create awareness on the theme among the general masses. She also advised all participants to follow COVID SoPs like maintaining social distance, hand hygiene and wearing Masks to avert the fresh Corona wave.
HoD Philosophy (NSS Programme Officer) Prof. Sanjay Kumar conducted the proceedings of the programme.
Among others, Head of Department Chemistry Prof. Kewal Kumar, Librarian Prof. Arun Gupta, other senior faculty members and large numbers of volunteers were also present in the camp.
