DODA, Dec 31: District Administration Doda is all set to roll out Covid vaccination for 15 to 18 year age group from Jan 3, 2022.
To discuss and finalize the preparations, District Development Commissioner Vikas Sharma today chaired a meeting of the health and school education department here at the DC office.
It was given out that the provision of the vaccination of age appropriate students will be made in all 133 Government and Private High Schools and 60 Government and Private Higher Secondary Schools in the district to inoculate 25190 students of class 9th to 12th. It was also given out that the target population of the age group between 15 to 18 years is 27841 in the district.
It was decided that 120 teams shall operate in different schools from January 3, the schedule of which shall be notified separately. Nodal officers have been appointed in each school for smooth conduct of the vaccination programme.
Besides, the present Covid-19 scenario was also discussed in the meeting. It was informed that 97% of the population above 18 year has been fully inoculated in the district. There is 0.16 positivity rate in the district and no Omicron case has been reported till date. Further it was informed that contact tracing for each positive Covid-19 case is on. The meeting was also informed that a 500 LPM Oxygen Generation Plant has been installed at CHC Gandoh, which is expected to be commissioned by tomorrow.
To meet the shortage of staff for Covid-19 containment measures, it was decided that teaching staff shall only be engaged on rotation basis for three months below the rank of lectures wherever required strictly as per the government guidelines and directions.
The meeting was attended by CMO Doda, DEPO Doda, DIO NIC Doda, District Information Officer Doda, District Epidemiologist, officials of District covid cell and representatives of CSC.
