Jammu, Dec 31: Department of English, GDC Bhaderwah in collaboration with the Department of English, GDC Chatroo organized UT Level Online Poetry Competition which started on 16 December 2021 (Nissim Ezekiel's Birth Anniversary) and ended on 27 December (Mirza Ghalib's Birth Anniversary). According to the handout issued by the college, a total of more than 60 poems were received from the students across Jammu and Kashmir. The initiative was taken under the overall patronage of Dr. Kuldeep Kumar Sharma, Principal, Govt. Postgraduate College Bhaderwah and Dr. Shafqat Hussain Rafiqi Principal GDC Chatroo. The competition was organized by Prof. Naz Zargar HoD English Govt PG College Bhaderwah and Dr. Jamsheed Ahmad HoD English GDC Chatroo. In the first step, all the poems were thoroughly checked by the organizers and the best sixteen poems were shortlisted. After plagiarism check, these 16 poems were mailed to three selected judges from Moradabad, Jammu, and Udhampur who were experts in the field of poetic work. Based on judgment, 1st position was secured by Ms. Neelufer from Govt. Women College Srinagar, 2nd position by Mr. Bushan Singh Chib from GDC Doda and 3rd position was secured by Ms. Sapna Devi from Govt. College of Education, Jammu.
