| Mufti reminds people of order at doorstep | | ‘Declare J&K free economic zone’ | | Early Times Report Poonch, Nov 14: On an extensive tour of remote areas of Poonch district, the Peoples Democratic Party patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed asked people to recall advantages of his government while making up mind for voting. Accusing National Conference of institutionalizing corruption and nepotism, Mufti said his regime of three years was marked by unprecedented transparency and efficiency in administration. "During our government we appointed as many as 60,000 teachers and all appointments were made in transparent manner". He reminded that even appointment orders were handed over to the candidates at their door steps to bring transparency. "Not even a single candidate was appointed without merit", he asserted, "our party cadre got annoyed as appointments were without any influence and only genuine and deserving candidates were selected". Exhorting the people to give Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) absolute majority in the on-going electoral battle, former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayed today said that his party is seeking mandate of the people to take the on-going peace process to the logical conclusion. He said that PDP is a movement to change fate of the people of Jammu and Kashmir which through its visionary policies is working assiduously to establish lasting peace in this region. Strongly defending his suggestions of introducing dual currency in Jammu and Kashmir, Mufti demanded that Jammu and Kashmir should be declared as free economic zone. "Jammu and Kashmir should become a model among the SAARC countries by allowing both Indian and Pakistani currency to operate in the state", he said and strongly defended his suggestions by quoting statement of traders of both sides of Kashmir who have also given such suggestions. Yashpal Sharma, party candidate for Poonch-Haveli and Imtiayz Bandey also addressed the gatherings.
