| Tight security to thwart Bandipore march | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Nov 15-Once again the security grid in the Kashmir valley has been beefed up in view of the call for Bandipore chalo on Monday given by the All Party Hurriyat Conference chairman, Molvi Umar Farooq. The call for this march had been given for Friday but adverse weather conditions and tight security measures had foiled the proposed march. The Hurriyat Conference has given the call for Bandipore chalo, which stands endorsed by the Coordination Committee, in view of the polling in Bandipore and Gurez constituency. The Coordination Committee has already issued a calendar in which it has been announced that people would march to those Assembly segments wherever the polling was to take place. Police sources said that restrictions on the movement of people would be imposed not only in Srinagar district but in Sopore, Baramulla and adjoining areas to prevent people from marching to Bandipore constituency with a view to wrecking the polling process. The sources said that if need was felt more separatist leaders would be arrested and others would be placed under house arrest. In reply to a question the police sources said that the security forces were well equipped and ready to meet any eventuality. They said the Government has decided to foil any attempt at disrupting the poll process. "We will not allow anyone, howsoever important he may be, to disturb the polling in any segment in the state," the sources said.
