Srinagar, Sept 14: Police today recovered the body of a photographer whose head had been chopped off after being abducted by militants in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir, triggering anti-Pakistan protest by local residents, official sources said here.

The head of Shabir Ahmad Dar was recovered from saffron fields in Chandhara area this morning, while the body was found from Kruenchh village, about a kilometre away, the sources said. Dar, a resident of Hathiwara village, was abducted last night.

Angry local residents staged a protest demonstration against the militants and also raised slogans against Pakistan demanding an end to terrorism in the state, they said.
