| Bloeria reviews poll arrangements at Bandipora | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
SRINAGAR, Nov 16: Advisor to Governor, Dr. Sudhir S. Bloeria, today visited Bandipora and reviewed arrangements for the Assembly Elections-2008 scheduled for November 17 in Bandipora, Gurez and Sonawari constituencies of the district at an officers meeting at Bandipora.
District Election Officer, Bandipora, DIG Baramulla-Kupwara range and S.P Bandipora were present.
Dr. Bloeria also took stock of the security scenario and was informed that elaborate security arrangements have been made across the district for smooth conduct of elections. For this purpose, the district has been divided into 15 zones and 30 sectors and zonal and sectoral magistrates along with police officers appointed to ensure free and fair polling.
The Advisor was informed that poll staff for 114 polling stations of Bandipora Assembly constituency and 106 polling stations of Sonawari constituency along with relevant material have been despatched. For 25 polling stations of Gurez Assembly constituency, the polling staff has been airlifted from Bandipora. The necessary material for this constituency was already despatched and has reached its destination. |
