Prakash Parv of Guru Gobind Singh celebrated with gaiety

JAMMU, Jan 9: 355th Prakash Parv (birth anniversary) of tenth Guru Gobind Singh was celebrated with great fervour and gaiety at Gurdwara Digiana Asharam under the supervision of Mahant Manjit Singh of Shiromani Dera Nangali Sahib Poonch. The Sangat of all walks of life from far and near areas participated in thousands and paid the obeisance. Ravinder Raina, President BJP J&K, Raman Bhalla ex-Minister and Working President Congress Committee J&K, Ex-Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta, Sudershan Singh Wazir Chairman Sikh United Front J&K, Khalid Hussain Ex-DC spoke on the occasion and reminded the sacrifices made by Guru Gobind Singh. The younger sons Jorawar Singh and Fateh Singh were tortured and bricked alive in Sirhind, whereas two elder sons Ajit Singh and Jujhar Singh attained martyrdom in the battle of Chamkaur in Punjab.
The Sikh Sanagat also thanked the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for declaring 26th December as "Bal Beer Diwas" in the memory of 4 Sahibzade. It is also demanded that the quota for refugee unemployed youths be fixed in recruitment at par with other reservations for SC-ST categories. The Punjabi language be given the status of official language as LG Jammu and Kashmir UT promised. Out of eight seats for assembly and two seats for Parliament four seats of assembly and one of parliament be allotted to Sikhs of Jammu province and four seats of assembly and one of parliament be allotted to Sikhs of Kashmir province. It is also demanded that an advisor to Lieutenant Governor Jammu Kashmir UT be appointed from Sikh community while concluding the celebration Shriman Mahant Manjit Singh of Shriromani Dera Nangali Sahib Poonch (J&k) asked the Sangat to follow the preaching of Guru Gobind Singh and serve the humanity above caste, colour, creed, region and religion as all are equal in the eyes of almighty.
