GoC D P Pandey visits Chattipadshahi Gurudwara

SRINAGAR, Jan 9: General Officer Commanding of Srinagar based 15 Corps Lieutenant General D P Pandey urged the youth to follow the narrative of peace and development to bring back the smile on every face.
Lt Gen Pandey said this while paying obeisance at Gurdwara Chattipadshahi in Rainawari area of old Srinagar on the occasion of Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti being celebrated with religious fervor and gaiety in Kashmir valley today.
He said his message to youth of Kashmir, especially Srinagar, that they need to change their narrative that has existed for years now and they should follow the narrative of peace and development of the country to make everyone happy.
"I hope the day will come when every face in Kashmir including me will wear a good smile", Lieutenant General Pandey said.
He said today on the auspicious day, "I have visited all shrines, Mosques, temples but had left to visit here at Chattipadshahi Gurudwara". "It is my luck that I visited the Gurudwara to pay obeisance on the auspicious occasion of Guru Gobind SinghJi Jayanti", he added.
He said, I prayed for peace and prosperity for the people of Kashmir to live happily and for the soldiers of Chinar Crop wherever they are performing their duties.
"It is the duty of the Indian army to conduct rescue operations", Lieutenant General Pandey said and added "whenever need arises anywhere in the country or world our Jawans perform their duties for the people… it is in our blood".
He said "Kashmiri people and Chinar Crop are one and the same and wherever civilians feel problems we are ready to extend a helping hand towards them always".
