| Fake PRCs case: MM grants bail to 2 brothers | | | Jammu, Sep 4 : Municipal Magistrate Jammu Sanjay Parihar today granted bail to two brothers who were arrested by the police for allegedly managing to get fake Permanent Resident Certificate on the basis of which they were even issued the license for running Kerosene and Ration Depot at Qasim Nagar locality. Resident of Patna, Bihar the accused Krishan Lal and Rajesh Gupta both sons of Dular Chand were arrested by the Crime Branch of Jammu and Kashmir Police for allegedly committing offence under section 420/467/471/120-B and were behind bars from last four days. The accused moved the bail application through their counsel Advocate SK Anand pleading innocence. Citing the common maxim of law that bail is not to be withheld as a matter of punishment, the court observed that the investigation in the case was going on and the accused were behind bars from last for days. While granting bail to the accused, the court directed them not to leave Jammu without the prior permission of the court. As per the prosecution story, the duo managed to procure fake Permanent Resident Certificate. The accused have also used these forged certificates to get license of Kerosene and ration depots, which they were running in Qasim Nagar locality of Jammu city. |
