| Peaceful polling held at Leh, Nobra | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT LEH, Nov 17: In Leh Assembly segment, approximately 53% voters cast their votes at the end of polling day while as in Nobra Assembly segment, about 55% polling was reported. The exact percentage of turn-out of both the Assembly segments can be known after reaching the polling parties from the remote and far off polling stations. The Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Leh, Chhering Dorje and sitting MP and Lute candidate from Leh Thupstan Chhewang cast their votes at Sankar-Yourtung polling booth while as former State Minister and Congress candidate Nawang Rigzin excercised his franchise at Nimoo. Overall voting process in the whole District went in a peaceful atmosphere and there were no report of any un-towards incident from any party of the district. The election observer 48-Leh Assembly segment Kauluram Meena, conducted close monitoring on the polling booth process in Leh and surrounding areas throughout the day. The District Election officer A.K Sahu also took frequent round of different polling stations in Leh to ensure free and peaceful elections. Besides, the Micro Observers who have been deployed in various sensitive and hyper sensitive polling stations were also supervising the polling process. |
