| Anganwari workers to be deployed on election duty | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT DODA, Nov 17: District Election Officer (DEO) Doda, Syed Sharief-ud-Din today convened a meeting of Anganwari Workers and Supervisors to discuss their role in the ensuing Assembly elections in Doda district. Addressing the participants drawn from Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) Projects, Doda, Bhagwa, Marmat, Assar and Ghundana, the DEO informed that recognizing the role of Anganwari Workers in their respective field and keeping in view the additional requirement of human resource in election process, the Election Commission has decided to deploy the Anganwari Workers as additional hands in election duty. Mr. Sharief-ud-Din stated that they have been assigned the duty of frisking the female voters reaching at the polling booths on poll day. The DEO also said that it has been decided that the Anganwari Workers would be deployed in their respective/ nearest areas and orders for the same would be served through CDPOs concerned. The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner, Revenue, Doda, Programme Officer, ICDS, Doda, CDPOs of Bhagwa, Marmat, Doda Assar and Ghundana and Supervisors of the respective projects. |
