| BJP optimism to win more seats in ensuing elections | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 17: BJP spokesperson Ramesh Arora has said that the unity of the state and that of the country is the paramount consideration of the party and maintained that BJP do not want and have never tried to divide the country on communal lines and have great respect for each and every caste, group and religion. In a press statement, Ramesh Arora said that BJP never tried to achieve political gain, at the cost of power or vote bank. Since independence of the country, BJP is playing an important role in this state of J&K and have compelled the central as well as state governments to extend laws which led to more unity. BJP cannot forget that at initial stages a prominent leader Dr. Shyama Parsad Mookerji sacrificed his life for ending, permit system and remained in favour of total integration of the state with the country, he added. He said the Congress leadership cannot justify unholy alliance of Congress with PDP, as PDP always raised demands which were and are against the unity and integrity of J&K state. Demands like demilitarization, abolishing of the Act which give special powers to security forces cannot be justified by anyone in any manner. The land dispute of Shri Amarnath Shrine Board was also the outcome of unholy, unjustified and unethical alliance, he maintained. The BJP spokesperson said that the BJP will gain more power in present elections as common man knows that BJP always stands with them, irrespective of the fact that BJP never remained in power in this state. A radical change is required this time and people will prove by voting in favour of BJP. It is first time that people of Kashmir have also accepted this fact that BJP do not stand for communalism, rather BJP stands for total integration that is why we demanded and remained in favour of abolishing Article 370. |
