Shzar aims at triple title in State TT

JAMMU, Nov 18: Young Shzar has emerged as most successful paddler in the ongoing 30th State Table Tennis Championship after she made it into the finals of three different events, including the women’s, here today.
Eyeing for a record triple title this time, Shzar shall be playing against Lavanaya Sharma in junior and sub-junior girls finals. In the women’s singles final, she has been pitted against a senior player and top seed, Chandpreet Kour.
The finals and valedictory function of the championships shall take place tomorrow afternoon, wherein, as per the organizers, Divisional Commissioner (Jammu), Sudhanshu Pandey has consented to be the chief guest.
Meanwhile, in the men’s singles event there was hardly any upset as all the seeded players qualified for the quarterfinals today.
All the four title contenders, top seed, Dheeraj Arora, Nitin Kesar (second seed), Sandeep and Jayesh Singh are expected to reach the semi-finals playing their respective quarterfinals late this evening.
