| International Gym excels in Strength Lifting | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Nov 18: Winning three gold medals, the International Gym shined in the just concluded 6th State Strength Lifting Championship organized by J&K Strength Lifting Association at Kathua.
While Gurpreet Singh won first place in 50 kg weight category, Parvez Malik clinched gold in Senior Master group.
Competing in 80 kg weight category, Nasir bagged the third gold for the Gym lifting a record weight of 135 kg in inclined bench press. The gym has claimed that Nasir has established an international record by surpassing the national record of 132.5 kg in inclined bench press.
On team’s return, the medal winners were felicitated by the owner of the International Gym and independent contesting candidate from Jammu West Assembly constituency, Rajesh Datta.
Prominent among others present were Dr Rohit Gupta, Nagesh Sharma, Sunil Lala and Amit Manhas. |
