| SED , District Legal Services Authority jointly organized a Webinar on "National Girl Child Day" | | |  Early Times Report
POONCH, Jan 24: Department of School Education in collaboration with District Legal services Authprity (DLSA) Poonch organised a Webinar "Towards Equal Future for All Children" to observe International Day of the Girl Child.
The Webinar was moderated by Darshan Bharti, Master Coach (DRG) welcomed the esteemed speakers, guests and set the context sharing the objective of the Webinar.
Mr Bharti shared that this webinar is a platform for interaction between Teachers and other stakeholders to strategize thinking on prevention of gender-based violence/distrimation against children and moving towards gender-inclusive schools & breaking gender-based barriers in communities by all actors.
Prof. Vishav Raksha, Director, Centre for Women's Studies and Head, Department of Sociology, University of Jammu, who was the Main Speaker on the occasion stressed the need to identify child diversity at the early years of the child. She also emphasized on the need to move towards an inclusive vision that all children must be treated equally.
"There is a need for all of us to self-reflect on our perspectives and break the gender-based barriers in our preconditioned thought processes that create discrimination. She added.
"All the stake holders including Teachers and Parents have to come forward to remove the inequalities faced by the girls in the society" said, Raksha. Wajahat Hussain Kazmi, (Sub Judge) Secretary District Legal Services Authority Poonch in his address said that Society needs to analyze arising situation and do their best to remove discrimination and gender inequality from the society. He further stated that parents have to start it from their homes and allow their girl children to nourish and provide them all the facility which male child gets.
Abdul Majid CEO Poonch extended thanks to all the participants and asked the teaching community to do their best to remove gender discrimination from the society.
