Shiv Sena gears up for assembly elections on Uddhav Thackeray’s call
Will fight like a lion on 80-20 formula: Sahni

EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, Jan 25: Shiv Sena Jammu and Kashmir unit has blown the bugle to contest the upcoming assembly elections in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. This was announced by the party’s State President, Manish Sahni during a press conference held at the party's state office here today.
Addressing media persons, Manish Sahni said that the decision has been taken on the call of party chief and Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, in which he said that Shiv Sena will fight every election like a lion, oriented towards grassroots politics for the interests of the people. Sahni said that under the guidance of party National Secretary and MP Anil Desai, the Jammu and Kashmir unit has geared up for the upcoming assembly elections. Shiv Sena will contest on all the assembly seats of Jammu and Kashmir.
In view of this, a door-to-door campaign will be started at the booth level in each assembly constituency. As the opinion received from the public, party manifesto will be issued. Sahni said that the BJP has betrayed the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He said that it is an irony that despite becoming a union territory, discrimination against Jammu division has not ended and claims of restoration of peace in Kashmir are also proving to be hollow. Moreover, unemployment and inflation is at its peak, daily wage earners are on the streets, crime and corruption are prevailing and the bureaucracy is displaying intolerable arbitrariness. Efforts are continue to tarnish the identity of Maharaja Gulab Singh's Dogra princely state under well knit conspiracies. Despite all this, the formation of women's commission and consumer courts and other commissions is not being carried out. Sahni reiterated that social service has always been the top priority in our agenda, adding that the Party founder Bala Saheb had also directed Shiv Sainiks to perform 80 percent social service and only 20 percent politics. Now the need of the hour is to implement 20 along with 80. On this occasion President Women's Wing Meenakshi Chhibber, General Secretary Vikas Bakshi, Chairman Rakesh Gupta, Vice President Balwant Singh President Kamgaar Wing Raj Singh, Secretary Surinder Kumar and Nagina Khan were present.
