Gupta for checking division of ‘nationalist votes’

JAMMU, Nov 19: Charging the Congress and pseudo secularists for raising the slogans of limited accession, autonomy, self rule and Azadi, former union minister and senior BJP leader Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta has asserted that Jammu and Kashmir in an inseparable part of India. Article of 370 is the root cause of many problems in Jammu and Kashmir, he said and observed that by taking advantage of this obnoxious provision, the ruling leaders of Congress and National Conference and their associates had been playing with the democratic rights of the people.
Addressing the meetings of Yuva Morcha and other party activist at Shiv Nagar and Shakti Nagar in Jammu west constituency, Prof Gupta emphasized the need for checking the division of the nationalist voters as he alleged that Congress had always been surviving in the country by playing tricks of dividing people and manipulating defections.
He said the Congress who never got overall majority of the votes at most of the places but survived by dividing people and their votes through various tricks and use of money and power. But the time has come when the electorates should themselves frustrate such designs and create an environment of unity with greater purpose of strengthening the forces of nationalism, he added.
Ridiculing the claims of the Congress leaders of development and having brought progress and prosperity, Prof Gupta said that people at several places were still bereft of basic amenities adding that the Azad government despite loud promises could not implement the recommendations of the 6th pay commission and fulfill the demands of the poor daily wagers and adhoc employees.
