| Bhim ridicules Congress, BJP manifestos | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 19: JKNPP chief Prof Bhim Singh who concluded his hectic election tour of Rajouri district to canvass for his party candidates has expressed grave surprise on the Congress and BJP manifestos, both pleading for Regional Councils. Addressing media persons after his return from Rajouri today, he said Congress has been exposed of its saffron connections in J&K after six decades. The Congress in J&K has been working in secret for long and today it stands exposed to the people on the eve of elections. This is a pity that both Congress and BJP want Jammuites to remain as salves of the Congress, PDP and NC, he remarked. He said the Panthers party on the other hand stands for regional legislative Assemblies, so that each regional Assembly shall enjoy full legislative rights to enact laws for its region within the scope and jurisdiction of the matters listed in the state list. That shall suffice the aspirations and will of the people of all regions and end domination of one region over the other. He said that people have to decide whether they want council or assembly for their self-pride and honorable living. Prof. Bhim Singh accused the state administration for discriminating with the Panthers Party candidates in the state and pointed out that Farooq Ahmed Dar, party candidate from Gandharbal was provided only two SPOs of which one was withdrawn by the IGP Security only to ensure that he would not visit his constituency. HE said A.R. Parray District President Budgam who is also the party candidate from Chrar-e-Shrief constituency has not been provided security just to keep him away from election campaign and the same was the case with Parveen and Rafiq Shah contesting from Badgam and Kupwara respectively. On the other hand Congress, NC and PDP candidates have been provided four vehicles and a dozen of security men and employees have been campaigning for them, he said and that the election is being held only for NC, Congress and PDP. |
