JSM manifesto promises reorganization of J&K

JAMMU, Nov 19: Several people led by Suresh Kumar of Ranjana and Satpal Sharma of Doda today joined Jammu State Morha (P) at a function here today.
Later, Suresh Kumar was nominated as party candidate from Raipur- Domana assembly constituency while Satpal Sharma was nominated from Doda constituency.
Later, releasing his party’s election manifesto at a press conference here today, the Morcha president Virender Gupta said JSM is a peoples’ movement with a mission to fight against the discrimination meted out to the people of Jammu region at the hands of Kashmiri.
He said Morcha aims at changing the mindset of the people of Jammu Province making them more vocal and assertive for their rights and preparing them to launch a decisive battle for the creation of a separate Jammu State.
Highlighting the salient features of the JSM manifesto, he said it seeks reorganization of Jammu & Kashmir State, holding fresh Census and Delimitation of Constituencies immediately after the elections; to work in co-ordination with the Shri Amarnath Sangarsh Samiti to get all pending issues resolved; appointment of a commission headed by a retired Chief Justice of Supreme Court to look into the gamut of the discrimination and other issues of discontent including the neglect of the political aspirations among the people of Jammu region and suggest necessary measures to ensure equitable and judicious status as per the population and area of Jammu region.
The manifesto also promises of providing relief package to the migrants from border areas and those from militancy prone areas of Jammu region at par with the migrants from the Kashmir Valley, besides, allowing PoK refugees to contest on the 24 Assembly seats reserved for PoK in the present J&K Legislature, adequate reservation to ex-servicemen in government sector jobs, reduction in VAT and providing an employment package to the educated youth and political reservation to Gujjars and Bakerwals.
Abdul Rouf Ganai, H B Khajuria, Anil Gour Digvijay Singh Jamwal, Divender Singh Jamwal and Chandra Uday Sharma were also present at the press conference.
