11/20/2008 12:03:33 AM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Nov 19: ‘BJP is not fighting elections for the sake of power but believes in unity and total accession of Jammu and Kashmir’, said Ramesh Arora BJP spokesperson in a statement today. BJP is fighting an ideological war and is not power hungry and favoured abrogation of 370, he added.
He said BJP is a party with a difference and mission and believes in unity and total accession of Jammu and Kashmir State. People of Jammu should realize that it is the BJP only which have tracked long distance on different names and have a definite plan to solve J&K internal and external problems. Hence power of vote must be used in favour of BJP, if we want permanent settlement of all issues in our State he said adding that BJP stands for giving right of vote to PoK refugees and ownership rights of evacuee property to the tenants besides monthly assistance to unemployed youth
Arora said that Congress raised a question mark over the instrument of accession signed by Maharaja Hari Singh by incorporating Article 370 in the Constitution of India giving special powers to state of J&K. He said BJP always rejected bill No. 9 from its inception and fought on roads against it.
Arora said Congress favoured divide and rule policy whereas we believe in oneness and unity. Bhindrawala was the creation of Congress and ultimately wrong policy led to Blue Star Operation and massacre of number of persons of a particular community, he observed.
He said due to mishandling in J&K, terrorists and anti-national forces were allowed to grow adding that BJP strongly opposed such relaxation and always remained in favour to stopping gun-battle before bringing them on negotiation table.
The BJP spokesperson expressed confidence that BJP will form the government in the state and appealed the voters not to divide their vote bank on false, fabricated and frivolous slogans raised by different parties.
