| 100 young artists performed at Music and Dance festival | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 19: More than 100 young artists of the state today enthralled the audience with their spellbound performances during a special programme of Music and Dance, held here at Abhinav Theatre. The Event was organized by Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages in collaboration with Institute of Music and Fine Arts, Jammu. Dr. KC Dubey, Director Doordarshan Kendera, Jammu was Chief Guest while a galaxy of Music lovers were present on the occasion. Welcoming the guests, Abhiney Kemmu, Principal Music and Fine Arts, said that the IMFA Jammu is a solo organization teaching Music and fine Arts in he region. We are working for the promotion of Classic and Traditional Arts and Music. He said our Students are capable to compete with National and International level. She urged the Academy and University authorities to start PG courses in Music and Fine Arts enabling the students to excel in their respective fields. The event was opened with Sarswati Vandhana fallowed by Khathak Dance presented by the Students of Dance Department. The Students of Music presented instrumental music on the occasion. The main attraction of the programme was Tabla Tervani while the programme was ended with playing of Sitar by Music Students. In his speech Dr. K C Dubey said that the State Academy is doing yeoman services for preservation and dissemination of Art, Culture and Languages in the State. He appreciated the presentation and said that our new generation must work for promotion of our folk Music and dance which still alive in the shape of Music and fine arts. Vajay Saraf Head, Painting presented vote of thanks. The programme was conducted by Raj Kumar Bahropiya. |
