| Adbi Kunj organizes literary meet | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 19: Adbi Kunj a multi lingual literary organization organized a special short story and poetic meet here the other day. The meet which was attended by large number of well know writers and poets of the state was presided over by Jaswant Singh. Shiv Mehta a know Dogri short story writer Shiv Mehta was the chief guest on the occasion. In the short story session, Muni Lal Puri read out his Urdu satirical write-up titled ‘Tyag Aur Sanyas’ criticizing political leaders who did not part with politics even in their advanced age. Talib Kashimri’s short story titled ‘Hasrat’ (Desire) depicting the story of a young couple who because of their extreme poverty are not able to fulfill their cherished desire of acquiring a proper kind of dwelling to live. M.S Kamra short story ‘Becharey Swami Ji” making a dig at the self proclaimed saints who try to misled the people by their various tantrums. Nirmal Bhardwaj in her hindi story titled “Moksh” (deliverance) is the story of a son who takes his aged mother on a pilgrimage to Allahabad and abandons her in the crowded fair but surprisingly the mother survives and ultimately finds her way back her house. Shiv Mehta read out excerpt in verse from his Dogri story ‘Banna’ (the Border) questioning the existence of artificial barriers. In poetic session those who recited their poems/ghazals, etc included Nargis Sitara (Urdu), Nirmal Bhardwaj (Hindi), Talib Kashmiri (Urdu, Kashmiri), Rajeshwar Bhakri (Hindi), Ayodhaya Rani Gamkhwar (Urdu), Jaswant Singh (Punjabi), Rakesh Sharma Sarkar (Dogri), M.S Kamra (Punjabi), Muni Lal Puri (Urdu), Ganesh Sharma (Hindi), Rakesh Tript (Hindi), Dr. B. Kumar (Dogri), Rajeev Kumar (Hindi), A.D Sharma (Hindi) and Sham Talib (Urdu). Nargis Sitara, Vice President, on the occasion said that ‘Tarahi Mushaira’ in memory of late O.P Sharma ‘Saarthi’ which could not be held earlier due to distributed situation in Jammu will now take place on November 30, at K.L Saigal hall of J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Canal Road. |
