| MASTERMIND BEHIND BASANTGARH MASSACRE ELIMINATED | | |
Jammu,September 14 : In a major success joint team of Rashtriya Rifles,Jammu and Kashmir state police and Border security force on Thursday eliminated top LeT Commander, allegedly involved in killing of 13 members of the minority community in Udhampur, Aijaz Ahmed S/O Mohd Latief R/O Lodhara Gund.
Addressing a press conference IG Jammu range Dr SP Vaid said, a top Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander responsible for the massacre of 13 members of a minority community in Basantgarh was gunned down by security forces in a joint operation in Udhampur district Thursday morning.
He said, after developing specific intelligence inputs the joint team of security forces first cordoned off the entire area in Punara in Basantgarh and then eliminated Aijaz Ahmed. He said another militant was still engaged in gun fight with the security forces till last reports came in.Two cases of looting of 6 .303 rifles along with 287 rounds from the VDC members at Punara and attack on soldier were also registered against Aijazs name, IG said addressing a press conference. |
