| Dheeraj Arora wins JKTT championship | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 19: The 6-day 30th J&K Table Tennis Championship concluded here at Indoor Sports Stadium Jammu this evening. Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Mr Sudhanshu Pandey, who is also senior Vice President of Jammu and Kashmir Table Tennis Association, was the chief guest on the occasion. About 200 players from various districts of J&K participated. Appreciating the efforts of the association for providing such a platform to the players to exhibit their potential, Mr Pandey asked the players to be more determined and disciplined in their approach towards sports. He stressed on the need to strive hard and bring laurels to the state in various sports by competing at national level. He said that youth should give due importance to the sports alongwith studies for their multifaceted growth. During the Championship, Mr Dheeraj Arora and Ms Chandpreet won the Men’s and Women’s title while Mr Sandeep and Ms Shazar Sharma were the runner up in the match. In the junior girls and boys final championship, Ms Shazar Sharma and Mr Jyesh Singh clinched the title beating Ms Lavanya Sharma and Mrs Shorya Sharma respectively. In the cadet girl’s and boy’s final, Ms Apoorva Gupta and Mr Usmaan Umar won the championship while Ms Mahima Gupta and Mr Asad Sharma were adjudged as runner up. Mr Mahesh Sharma won the veteran final and Mr Parshotam Khajuria was the runner up. |
