Symposium on energy conservation organized at Kathua

KATHUA, SEPTEMBER 14 -A symposium on the topic “Electric Energy Conservation” was organized by local high secondary school in collaboration with District Information Centre, Kathua today.
Chief Education Officer Kathua, Mr. Arun Sharma was the chief guest while Tehsildar Kathua galaxy of media persons, educationists and prominent citizens were present on the occasion.
As many as 10 students of the school took part in the symposium and read out their writings on the topic. The speakers stressed the need for judicious use of Electric power and depicted skits discouraging the mis-use of electricity and exhibiting its fair use in the day today life. The audience highly appreciated the writings of the students on the topic presented on the occasion.
Miss Neha secured first position in the symposium while 2nd and third positions were won by Miss Needhika Saroach and Jag meet Kour respectively.
Speaking on the occasion the Chief Education Officer highly appreciated the efforts of the students who have tried to aware the masses about the judicious use of electricity by way of their presentations and skits. He said that we should start this campaign from our own house first and then educate the other people.
Earlier to observe Hindi Diwas a poetry competition was also organized in the school in which 8 students took part and spoke on the topic.
Miss Rashi katal was adjudged best speaker, Miss Diksha Bharti was declared 2nd and Mohini Mehra bagged third position.
Certificates and trophies were given to the participants on the occasion.
