| Speaker inaugurates bore well at Company Bagh | | |
JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 14 - Speaker, J&K Legislative Assembly Mr. Tara Chand inaugurated 5th bore well at Company Bagh, constructed by the Ground Water Division under Public Health Engineering Department involving an amount of Rs. 20 lakh for each dug well including infrastructures, here this morning.
The Speaker and MLA Jammu East, Mr. Yogesh Sawhney performed Bhoomi Poojan ceremony on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Tara Chand asked the accompanied engineers to complete these works within the time frame and use only quality material for the durability of the structures. He said that government has started so many water supply projects in the state to meet the drinking water shortage in urban and rural areas. He instructed the concerned authority to accelerate the pace of work so that people of Jammu city and adjoining area would be provided with proper water supply.
The Speaker said that process of revitalizing concerned department which suffered a major problem after the Sitlee Filtration Plant collapsed in the resent heavy rains. He said all the 10 bore wells when completed involving an amount of Rs. 2 crore would provide drinking water supply to storage tank for further supply to the consumers. He said this fifth bore well would also start functioning within 10 days.
Among others, Chief Engineer PHE Mr. V. K. Goswami, Superintending Engineer, Mr. V. K. Puri and senior engineers and officers of various departments were present at the Bhoomi Pooja ceremony. |
