| DDC convenes quarterly meeting of DLRC/DCC | | | JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 14 -A quarterly meeting of District Level Review Committee (DLRC)/District Consultative Committee (DCC) for the quarter ended June 2006 for Jammu district was held here today under the auspices of Lead Bank Office of State Bank of India Jammu on today under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner Jammu Mr Hirdesh Kumar Singh. Chief Manager Lead Bank Mr R. K Koul presented the welcome address and gave an account of banks performance in the Jammu district during the first quarter. He apprised that disbursement of Rs.71 crore was made during he quarter ended June 2006 as against Rs.65 crore made during the corresponding period last year. The credit deposit ratio stood at 35.64 percent as against 30.15 percent as on June 30, 2005 registering a spectacular growth of 5.49 percent. The DDC lauded the role of major performers viz SBI, PNB, EDB etc. He exhorted the Banks and Line Departments to work in close coordination and make the Employment Generation and Poverty Alleviation Programmes launched by Government of India and RBI successful. Mr Singh expressed displeasure over the low credit dispensation made under agriculture sector and stressed the need for issuing KCCs to all eligible farmers and credit linking the SHGs without any delay. The DDC joined by the RBI representative and Lead Bank Officer urged all the Banks to strength on Service Area Monitoring Information System (SAMIS) and ensure that data and information is submitted to Lead Bank office and user departments promptly. He called upon the RBI representative to take up the issue sternly with the controllers of the defaulting banks. The meeting was also attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Jammu Mr B. S Jamwal, ADDC Jammu Mr Saurab Bhagat, LDO RBI Mr Dalip Koul, AGM NABARD Dr Sohan Premi, District Manager J&K Bank Mr N. K Khajuria, District Coordinator PNB Mr A. K Mota and other senior officers from banks and departments. |
