| DC’s intervention resolves Karlah land dispute | | | UDHAMPUR, SEPTEMBER 14 -With the visit of Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Mr. O. P. Kalandria to village Karlah in Patnitop area, the issue of encroachment of Primary School, Karlah land by the Patnitop Development Authority (PDA) over construction of bath-rooms cluster near the school has been resolved amicably after holding fruitful dialogue between PDA and locals, last evening. After holding threadbare discussion with Chief Executive Officer, PDA who had agreed in principal to concede all the demands of the public which include alternate pathway on the western side of under construction bathrooms for use of the common people, leveling of school compound, construction of breast wall and compensation of Kah Charai land acquired by PDA. The locals also demanded that the bathrooms under construction by PDA be allowed to be used by students of the school free of charges during school hours. It may be recalled that few days back PDA started raising construction of cluster of toilet room in village Karlah near local Primary School. While the construction work was under progress, the inhabitants of the area objected to the construction work on the plea that land belongs to school. To ascertain the facts and the status of disputed land, the Deputy Commissioner deputed Ist Class Magistrate, Chenani. After demarcation of land it was found that the bathroom cluster construction was being made on Ka Charai land, which is not the part of school land. |
