Free ration demanded for Gool inhabitants
11/20/2008 11:45:20 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Nov 20: The Panther party candidate from Gool-Arnas Haji Choudhy Faqir Mohammed has demanded free ration to the people of Gool at least for six months to tide over the miseries caused by the failure of crops due to weather conditions.
Addressing several election meetings in the constituency, the JKNPP candidate said that the people in the area were facing acute shortage of rations as their crops were damaged due to the untimely rains coupled with hail storm and urged the government to provide free rations to the affected people of the area.
He also criticized the previous regimes for neglecting the far flung areas in the matter of basic amenities to the masses, majority of which are living below the poverty line. He said that former MLA and Minister only benefited his own henchmen ignoring the general public.
In the meanwhile, party candidate from Kishtwar Anil Parihar held NC, Congress and PDP responsible for the backwardness of the constituency and alleged that the former legislator, who mostly remained busy in his own business and showering benefits to his henchmen, did very little for the development of this backward area. He said that the constituency development funds were not utilized in the larger interest of the people in the rural and far-flung areas.
Appealing the people to vote for Panthers Party for equitable development of all the villages in Kishtwar district, Parihar demanded that VDCs and Ex-servicemen should be provided training in latest weapons to protect the civil population.
