| Chairman CBM, FC visit migrant camps | | | JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 14 – Chairman CBM Mr. Hamid Ansari and Financial Commissioner, New Delhi Mr. Ajit Kumar today conducted an extensive tour to Phase-I and Phase-II of Muthi camp to assess the genuine problems of Kashmiri migrants for early redress. Deputy Commissioner, Jammu Mr. Hirdesh Kumar Singh, Relief Commissioner (Migrants), Kr. Mohinder Singh, Chairman Group of CBM Mr. Ansari and other senior officers of Revenue Department accompanied the Financial Commissioner. Chairman Migrant Camp Muthi Mr. Pyiara Lal Raina put-forth their demands confronting Kashmiri Migrants in these camps which include constitution of a tribunal based in Jammu headed by an acting or retired judge of High Court to dispose off cases of illegal occupation of Pandit properties in Kashmir valley, Government jobs to unemployed educated youth, repairs of main electric wires, adequate supply of drinking water, enhancement of monthly dole to commensurate with the market inflation to Rs. 8000/- per family, eviction of all encroachments and illegal occupations and handing over the properties to the custodian for safekeeping and collection of rent in retrospect with intimation to the owners, improvement of living conditions in camps with two rooms sets for each family, compensation be paid to those affected people whose properties have been destroyed, admission quota for migrant students in schools and professional colleges, Managing committee constituted to care the shrines and temples, compassionate employment under SRO-43, HRA, CCA and promotional benefits, age relaxation, loan facilities, eight months salary instead of 10 months to the retiring migrant employees, etc. The Chairman, group of CBM, Mr. Ansari assured them that their genuine demands would be solved in phased manner. He said that the state and centre governments are fully aware of the problems of Kashmiri migrants and steps would be taken to resolve these. |
