| Retired teacher enters poll fray in Bhaderwah | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT BHADARWAH, Nov 20: Balkrishan Manhas a retired officer has decided to plunge in to poll fray as independent candidate from Bhadarwah. Hailing form Panshaye, which has been strong hold of Congress, Manhas terms all the tall claims of development of the Cong-PDP government as hollow and a bundle of lies. He said, “despite huge amounts of funds coming from the centre the plight of the common people remains unchanged. The road connectivity is negligible, drinking water facility is non-existent, plight of hospitals is poor and list of unemployed youth is lengthening and the money coming from the Centre has been misused and swindled by the ruling class. As per press release Manhas has priorities if elected like to fight for the cause of the unemployed youth; Work for the development of rural areas by way of excel rating pace of work on the ongoing projects; Work for the development of women societies by creating self-helps groups; Fight for the cause of the old age persons and poor people who are facing acute finance problems; Work for enhancing the education standard of children living in villages so that they can compete with those living in cities; Work for the improvement of the healthcare system that remains paralyzed due to non availability of trained medical staff; Work for exploring tourism potential of different areas of Bhaderwah constituency; and Work to exploit all natural resources in the constituency so as to create employment avenues”. He believes that Jammu and Kashmir state has been passing through a crucial phase of corruption, nepotism and militancy which according to him has crippled the socio-politico-economic development of the state including Bhadarwah. |
