SRINAGAR, Nov 19: State women's rugby team is rearing to tackle with Indian women in the first ever three-day seven-a-side National Rugby Women's Championship organized by Indian Rugby Football Association (IRFU) at Pune from tomorrow.
The 10-member state team left for the venue yesterday evening to compete in a competition wherein eight states are expected to take part. It will be out of this national championship that the IRFU will select the Indian team for an international event to be held in Hong Kong.
The state team is well prepared and the Association is expecting some good results this time. “The girls have worked very hard during the special camps held this season. The team is confident and excited too to compete at the national level,” said an official of the Association.
