SRINAGAR, Nov 21: The Lolab, Handwara and Langate Assembly constituencies of Kupwara district are going to polls on 30th November, 2008 in the 3rd phase of JK Assembly Elections-2008 along with Karnah and Kupwara constituencies.
Lolab: There are 85,855 registered voters including 381 service voters in the constituency for 2008 Elections. Of these, 45,338 are male and 40,517 female voters. There are 10 candidates in fray. They are Mr. Qaiser Jamsheed Lone (NC), Mr. Abdul Haq Khan (PDP), Mr. Abdul Rahim Wani (PDF) (S), Mr. Farooq Ahmad Mir (INC), Mr. Muneer Ahmad Khan (Panthers Party), Mr. Manzoor Ahmad Ganai (Independent), Mr. Mohammad Maqbool Shah (BSP), Mr. Mahawali Khan (Independent), Mr. Barkat Ali Khan (ANC) and Mr. Abdul Aziz Naik (Independent) are contesting Election 2008 from this constituency.
Handwara: Handwara Assembly constituency has 78,151 registered electorate for 2008 Elections. Of these, 40,579 are male and 37,572 female voters. These include 33 service voters. There are 13 candidates in fray who are Ch. Mohammad Ramzan (NC), Mr. Ghulam Mohammad Mir (PDP), Mr. Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Sofi (Independent), Ms. Shafiqa Begum (Panthers Party), Mr. Mohammad Akbar Lone (Independent), Mr. Mohammad Yaseen Bhat (Independent), Mr. Mohammad Shafi Dar (Awami National Conference), Mr. Anayat Ullah Lohar (Independent), Mr. Pawan Kumar (Independent), Mr. Mohammad Abdullah Chatwall (Independent), Ms. Hanifa Begum (BSP), Mr. Ghulam Nabi Shah (Independent) and Mr. Sajad Ahmad Tantray (Independent) are in the fray from this constituency.
Langate: There are 60,238 registered voters in the constituency for Elections-2008. These include 11 service voters. The number of male voters is 31,664 and 28,574 are female voters.
