| Sanction for prosecution of DPO, others | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Nov 21: The government today accorded sanction for prosecution of Mohammed Ramzan Bhat then District Panchyat Officer Kupwara, Mohammed Munawar Lone then Senior Assistant in the office of DPO and one Shamas-ud-Din Shah then daily wager in the office of DPO u/s 5(1) d r/w 5(2) J&K PC Act 2006 and section 420, 409, 120-B RPC.
The alleged accused officials in league with leaders of self help group purchased substandard sanitary items from outside the state and thus put the state exchequer to the loss of Rs 32 lakhs. Initially the case was registered with the Police station Kupwara and on the direction of the High Court; it was transferred to State Vigilance Organization for in depth inquiry . JNF |
