| Bajalta village without electricity, gets power bills every month | | |

Udhampur, Feb 21: Residents of village Bajalta in Udhampur district who have never seen electricity get power bills regularly every month.
According to locals the government has not been able to develop a power transmission system for the village till date. “Despite getting no electricity we get power bills every month. Our children study under candle light and under the open sky even after 75-years of independence,” they said, adding, “The PDD has failed to bring electricity to our village but sends the bills religiously every month.”
“Claims of electrifying all the villages are a hoax as on ground no such thing has happened,” they said. |
