| DPP urging Govt to remove traffic restrictions | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 21: Uday Chand, President & Party candidate for Jammu West assembly segment strongly urged the Government to immediately remove restrictions on public traffic on Shalimar road in front of Civil Secretariat which is completely de linking the western part of Jammu City with its northern part and causing grave problems to the general public continuously. As per a release, Uday Chand said the decision of the security agencies for the closure of the Shalamar Road towards Dogra Hall is un wise and against general public. The people have only one road via Parade ground where took hours to cross because of huge rush and regular Jams. He said it is very interesting that the securing agencies allowed the traffic on road between Zanana Park & Civil Secretariat vial vigilance office, which is a hand throw distance and found no risk. And on the other hand restrictions imposed on traffic in front of secretariat gate which is about five hundred yards away from the Secretariat building, clearly explains the sense of the order and the decision of the state security agencies. He said many roads are already closed due to the work of laying of sewerage pipes and this Civil secretariat road closer cause much disturbance to the common man especially motorists, the release added. |
