JAMMU, Nov 21: The annual inter-school athletics meet of Jammu district commenced today at KC Public School ground, Paloura, near here under the banner of Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS).
In the first phase, boys from three age groups of under-14, under-17 and under-19 are competing for top honours in different field and track events.
Earlier, the athletics meet was declared open by the Principal, KC Public School, Zorawar Singh, who was chief guest on the opening day today. Speaking to the participants, he said that sound mind in sound body is possible only when you are an active in sports.
District Youth Services and Sports Officer and organizing secretary, Jai Raj presided over the inaugural function. Prominent among others present were Usha Jamwal, Manorma Sharma, Sunita Goel, Chanchal Kour, Tirath Ram, Rajesh Vaid, Sher Singh, Jeet Singh, Ram Lal and Ram Pal (all ZEPOs).
