Jammu, Nov 21
Farooq

Our government will usher Jammu and Kashmir in an era of peace, prosperity and development which has been vitiated by the bad ruling experiment of Peoples Democratic Party and Congress coalition”, said NC leader and former Chief Minister Dr Farooq Abdullah while addressing public meetings in Kalakote and Nowshera constituencies. “The coalition government which came into power in 2002 by raising hollow slogans and making false promises failed to address the public importance issues, with the result the six years of Congress-PDP rule in the state led to an administrative anarchy and chaos”, he told people.
"In the name of development, the Congress-PDP government in the state has given the state unemployment, corruption, financial mismanagement, poverty, bad roads, dry taps, poor health care and crippled education system" said the NC patron. He said "NC believes in equitable development of all the three regions, community and caste", adding; National Conference has always stood for secular values and will remain committed for socio-economic and political development of all the sections of the society. Farooq said that "my party shall fight for the cause of Pahari and Gujjars and will ensure that the interest of both the sections be protected at all costs".
Dr. Abdullah said "my party has a dream for the people of my state and the dream is to of transform the destiny of the state and its people". He said National Conference has come out with its agenda for governance which is a roadmap for the economic resurgence of the state and will usher an era of unprecedented development in the state and open new avenues of employment for the unemployed youth. The unemployed youth shall be provided with stipend till they are employed, he promised.
Expressing concern over the plight of the Border migrants of Rajouri and Poonch District, Dr. Abdullah said National Conference after coming to power will ensure that the border migrants from this twin border district be treated at par with migrants from Kashmir.
National Conference believes that local self government at the grassroots level should be institutionalized and strengthened to ensure people’s participation in decision making. He promised that National Conference government immediately after coming to power shall hold elections to all the Panchayats and fully support them to discharge their functions as envisaged in the Panchayati Raj Act, enacted by National Conference Government in 1989.
