| Farooq’s hasty conclusion irks opponents | | | Sandeep Bhat Jammu, Nov 21 The first phase of polling in Kashmir valley which passed peacefully has upset all calculations. The absence of militants strike in the first phase has now boosted the confidence among the people to contest in remaining six phases. Now keeping in view the turnout of voters and failure of boycott call of separatist various political leaders have started making claims to form next government in the state. National Conference patron Dr. Farooq Abdullah in recently held press conference with full confidence said, National Conference will get absolute majority in the state legislature and as such will form government of its own. The even said that Kashmir Pandits in the cabinet will be represented by Vijay Bakaya former chief secretary of the state. With regard to Bakaya, Kashmiri Pandits have no good opinion about him. To know the reaction of various political leaders and intellectually etc. about Farooq’s statement, correspondents of this paper interacted with some of them. The BJP state president, Ashok Khajuria in this remarks said Dr. Abdullah’s statement in forming the next government is nothing, but is day dreaming. He now act as on Jyotshi, not as on politician. Khajuria said, time will decide which party will be in a position to form next government in the state. He further said, there is nothing surprising in his statement making he is habitual in making non-serious statements, which people take lightly. It will be good for him to struck to politics and desist in making such statements. Senior PDP leader and former minister Tariq Hamid Qarra said, people have decided to vote against National Conference which he said has failed on all fronts. NC, he said, is in a fix how to keep flock together as workers associated with NC since decades have left it. He said election results on December 28, 2008 will speak itself who is going to form next government in the state. Darakshan Andrabi of Socialistic Democratic Party while talking to this reporter said both father and son are living in fool’s paradise. No doubt NC ruled J&K state for maximum period after independence, but did nothing for common masses, but on the other hand helped their own kith and kin in and outside administration. They ruled line a king and paid little attention towards peoples problem, she said and added that forming of next government by National Conference is out of question. Sheikh Abdul Rehman, state president of Samajwadi Party believes that there will he fractured mandate and as such NC, Congress and PDP find it difficult to form government. People of the state, he said are totally neglected with the parties who ruled the state such independence as three parties did nothing to mitigate the problems of common masses. Un-employment is touching new heights and the parties fail in pending out some solution in this regard, same is the case with price hike. He further said Abdullahs dream to form next government has no chance, but on the other hand number of independent candidates will be higher at this time. Various senior Congress leaders said NC have no chance to form a government, as the party has been rejected by the voters in first phase. They said the un-precedcuted achievements of the Congress during its rule, people of the state have decided to give clear mandate to Congress candidates to ensure further the prosperity of the state. They said every one has freedom be a dreamer, so is Dr. Farooq Abdullh.
