| 32 independents in fray in Kupwara district | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, NOV 22: As many as 32 independent candidates are in fray out of the 71 candidates contesting five seats in Kupwara district, which goes to polls in the third phase of J&K Assemble Elections 2008. Five constituencies in which polling will be held on November 30 are Karnah, Kupwara, Lolab, Handwara and Langate.
Out of the 14 contestants in ring in Karnah constituency, 5 are independents while as 8 of the 19 contestants in fray from Kupwara constituency are independents.
Similarly, 3 of the 10 candidates in fray from Lolab constituency are independents while as 8 of the 13 contestants in the ring from Handwara are independent candidates. In Langate Assembly constituency, 8 out of the 15 contestants are independents. |
