| Central Brahman Sabha dissolved | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 22: In the larger interest of unity among the Brahman community in Jammu region and bring all the community groups on a single platform of Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha, the Central Brahman Sabha Jammu has dissolved its unit. The decision to this effect was taken at the meeting of the executive body of Central Brahman Sabha held under the Chairmanship of its President Inderjeet Khajuria. The meeting attended by M L Sharma, Ajit Bahadur Sharma, A N Bhardwaj, Dr. Ashok Sharma, Deepak Sharma, Vimal Sharma, Suresh Sharma and Raman Sharma, unanimously resolved to dissolve the unit as all its members have already enrolled themselves as the members of Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha, which has been the oldest platform of Brahman community in Jammu. The meeting also urged upon the incumbent leadership of DBPS to throw open its membership to all the members of the community and see that maximum number of community members are enrolled all over the region. They have also appealed to all other organizations and groups of Brahman community to join on a single platform under the banner of DBPS, to serve the interests of Brahman community. They have also demanded that membership period should be adequately extended in order to cover all the districts and tehsils besides enrolling members even in the remotest areas of the region. To instill confidence among the community members in general, the meeting demanded that the membership drive should be given wide publicity and nothing should be done in a hush hush manner. |
