JAMMU, Nov 22: Organised by Department of Physical Education, University of Jammu, the inter-college men’s hockey tournament shall take place from November 24 at K K Hakhu Stadium, here.
In all, 10 teams are taking part in this five-day knock-out competition. On the opening day, only two matches have been scheduled while other six teams, including the last year’s winner, MAM College, have been awarded direct entry into the second round of quarterfinals.
Last year, MAM College had defeated the combined side of Post Graduate Departments of University of Jammu in the final.
“The inter-college hockey tournament will be conducted in accordance with the new rules of Association of Indian Universities and Indian Hockey Federation,” Assistant Director Physical Education, Dr Sonam Angchuk told SAN. |
