JAMMU, Nov 22: Distinguishing himself, Vipan Kumar of Government SRML Higher Secondary School clinched gold in the long distance race of 5000 meters in under-19 year category in the ongoing inter-school (boys) competitions of Jammu district organized by Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at K C Public School, here today.
Second place in this event went to Tarsem Lal of Government Higher Secondary School Dori-Dagher while Johny Kumar of Government HSS Pargwal finished third.
The under-17 long distance race of 3000 meters, Ajay Kumar of Government HSS Dori-Dager bagged first place while Raman Kumar of Government HSS Pargwal and Devinder Singh of Government High School Devipur were second and third respectively.
On the second and concluding day of the two-day boys’ competitions, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Jai Raj was special guest, who encouraged the participants.
Meanwhile, after gap of a day tomorrow, the athletics competitions in girls section shall start from November 24 at the same venue of KC Public grounds.
